   • Google Trends (Canada, past 90 days) through the Apify apify/google-trends-scraper actor. Only 1 of 12 terms returned before the run stalled, and I aborted it.
2. Excluded candidates: fragile, branded, regulated (cosmetic claims, supplements, batteries/vapes, weapons, medical devices) and kids' safety-critical items. Examples dropped: the heated jacket (battery), the nebulizer (medical device), the spinning whiskey glass (fragile), branded SUSTEAS/HUUSK/LMETJMA listings, supplements and skincare.
3. Supplier data.
   • CJdropshipping (preferred) was not usable. Every product page returned a "human verification" captcha, and an Apify CJ scraper run returned 0 items. No CJ prices could be verified.
   • AliExpress was used instead. Data came from the Apify actor zen-studio/aliexpress-scraper: run FYFmNvm4JtfeYUDY0, finished 2026-10-23 08:27 PDT, ship-to country = CA, currency USD.
   • What the run returned: listing price, SKU price range, units sold, rating, the Canada shipping quote and the delivery window. The scraper also marked each listing as active and available.
   • Direct checks failed. I tried loading every chosen AliExpress URL from this box with curl and WebFetch. Each one returned an anti-bot "punish" captcha or a 302 redirect to login/aliexpress.us, so I could not confirm in a browser that the pages load. The fact that they are live comes from the scraper run on 2026-10-23.
   • Banggood was checked directly with a headless browser as a backup, with Canada selected in the shipping modal.
